Showed up here looking for a drink - a Capri Sun, specifically. They don't sell them.

Needed some new pants, so I asked if they had any Capri Pants. Nope. No dice.

Asked for astrological advice. Said I was a Capri corn. Nope. They don't do that either.

    TALK ABOUT FALSE ADVERTISING.

It's alright though. Just got pizza instead. Life goes on.

I have mixed feelings about this pizza place because although the slice was definitely delicious and dirt cheap and the service was really excellent, at the same time this is where I was told that Germany had exited the World Cup. Problem is, I'd recorded every game and was heading back to Buffalo to watch them all without knowing what had happened. I'd just told the person blabbing not to tell me any scores. Life goes on.

Also the slice took so long that I ended up missing both of the custard shops that I wanted to check out. Partly because I was waiting for said blabber and his lovely South African wife (swoon Charlize Theron swoon). Life goes on.

Still its a cute little pizza place, with yummy slices, and really friendly service. By Detroit standards it's a 4 star place. By most standards it's 5 stars. Detroit has the best pizza imaginable, you see. But since the guy serving was so great, I'm bumping it up to 5 stars. Now I'm onto the next review, and you know why? Because Life Goes Freaking On.

This place is vintage without trying to be--it just is. And by vintage I mean it looks like it was founded in the early 80's and the decor/equipment was never updated. From the old school Detroit sports decor to the 1980s Bud and Bud Light decals on the fridge door (probably the same fridge they've had since they opened the place up), if it wasn't for the fresh beer and pop in the fridge you'd think you stepped into a time machine.

As for the pizza--very solid Detroit style pie. The square crust is absolutely perfect; chewy, crispy and oven fresh. The sauce is slightly sweet with good oregano flavor. The cheese is a substantial mozzarella with great cheese pull.

The toppings are what hold this pizza back from fulfilling its five star potential. The mushrooms are canned and rubbery and the pepperoni is unremarkable.

Overall a very dependable pizza joint that every city should have. Simple, no frills, cool takeout pizza place that just makes good pizza and offers a cold drink if you so choose.  I will definitely be back to try other pizzas they offer!

What a great & quiet local spot. The place is mainly carry out and drinks. Food is always on point, staff incredibly friendly. It's been my go to for quite a while!

Capri Pizza has been a local favorite for almost 50 years and, somehow, I am really just embracing it. I always just went to my "go to" growing up,  Primo's Pizza. However, I live right around the corner from Capri and a couple of my neighbors rave so I thought I should give it a go.

In the last few months my family and I have had the spaghetti, lasagna, the deep dish pizza, the regular round, and their famous garlic cheese bread. Everything was super solid. I HIGHLY recommend their lasagna. We are a house divided when it comes to the pizza style but, needless to say, both the regular round and deep dish are VERY good! The salads are about what I would expect; solid if unspectacular. They have a small selection of beer and wine.

It isn't much to look at but do not let that deter you. Capri is serving up some of the best Pizza in the Metro area. Great job to the whole Capri Pizzeria Team!!!
